The Poetic Universe

High above clouds blanketing a sleeping earth
pale horizon fades into the vast universe
Tiny dots of brilliance, so small to my eyes
possess magnitude that baffles my limited mind
 
If miniscule is enormous, then my big problems are small
as distance and eternity dwarf them all
A fresh perspective on our differences unfolding
as ancient light gains new meaning upon our beholding
 
The Creator of stars and planets and oceans
saw fit to equip me with words and emotions
So this gift I’ll employ to share a truth with you:
our shame amounts to nothing, from a cosmic view
 
Through grace, ever-expanding as the universe above,
we’re all one with all things in the spirit of Love.
