On My Way To Boxley
Awaiting the train
Full of trepidation
At the railway station
A young woman
Perhaps late twenties
Said with a soft Australian accent
"You look fabulous!"
I thanked her
As she moved along the platform
My spirits lifted
Looking fabulous
Was like my coat of armour
Made of silk
And coated with a myriad species of flowers
A celebration, very well celebrated
And happy memories
Cherished
Of my wonderful Australian stepmother
Went the day well
As much wine was quaffed
You will be missed dearest Margery
all my love
