can’t remember when I last saw
a wasp, I thought, sitting outside the pub eating lunch in the past
was always accompanied by wasps ..

What type of "wasps" are we talkin' here? White anglo saxon perverts? Or the organically stinging kind? There's been a dramatic decrease in wildlife during my lifetime, and it's been painfully apparent.
