sparks in the dark

We spilt blood
left ink trails of red
and now she's a part of me
a spark
a holy fucking spark
that I can't extinguish
though I've spent a decade
wondering how the hell
she slipped inside my skin
and cursed me
with this wanting

Because she knows me
when no one else knows me
though she's never
shown me her true dark
existing like a new moon Goddess
hiding from the world
hiding from the sun
hiding from me

And I don't know how
I can be so loved
when I'm nothing more
than blood and dirt
and a survival instinct
that just won't quit

She sees the Goddess in me
when I can't even look in the mirror
she sees my strength
when I shatter like glass in her hands
and while she's never
put me back together
her words heal like a caress
on a starless night
when the world has forsaken me
and all that's left is
her unseen smile
pressed to my ear
whispering sweet everythings

We spilt blood
left ink trails of red
and now she's a part of me
a spark
a holy fucking spark
I can't escape
