In The Heat Of The Season

Mecury is rising �
and crickets whizzing �
i hear the hissing �
as of a pan sizzling.. �

It is stark soundless �
a landscape speechless �
a silent sweetness �
mingled with a moment �
idyllic and timeless �
� �
On the pine forest border �
whence the pathways meander �
through the hill and upward �
shepherds in blissful rapture �
� �
Flat and far stretch the green plains �
wheat and barley and more summer grains �
to fill the brainy eye with wisdom �
and the weary heart with romantic balsam �

Mercury is ever rising �
and the sun, a zenithal ascending �
and the shadows drawing short �
I feel the season on mountain top �

As i stray hither and thither �
a gypsy soul in a mild weather �
a tune �of romance whispered �
a grasshopper over there skipped �
� �
And his wings flutter like a paper �
from a pink story line was �torn �
where safely on a stone it lands... �

Wild flowers and edible herbal plants �
Grow strong under a hard rocky boulder �
safely nestled within a high rockscape �
giving their aroma �with a sunny reflection
