Vague 2

Life begins
with one candle
on a cake
we grow until
the years scramble
like cattle gathered , vague
we exist like pins
sharp but soon to break
holding a thread within
that ,soon the eye can't take
the moon does levitate
the earth always rotates
it's axis isn't straight
turning backwards
day to day.

Nothing leaves here
apart from an alien face
or maybe the odd rocket
we hope makes it to space .

I've no scope
I've lost my way
my hands they both
don't hold, they trace
across the walls
that form this maze
we're all just cattle
that's gathered vague.
