A Witch reborn in the Night
A woman alone
seeking comfort in the dark
hoping to hide from the blight of her soul
instead discovering the purity of night
She once was young and full of light
a virgin trusting and naïve
until the world came crashing down
sanity buried deep beneath rape and incest
memories alive forever in her mind
Her heart grew cold
a blizzard that savaged her life
yet new desires grew from frozen ground
everything lost but serenity found
A whisper barely heard
above the pounding of her heart
"My sweet guardian and
refuge, let me love me too"
and with these words
Night touched her shadow
freeing her tortured soul
that she might see in the dark
guiding her to the other side of pain
Looking in from outside the world
she saw what was meant to be
and cried
for the life that was
and for the evil man does
She was finally free
a witch reborn in the night

I read this and I think you have us witches wrong... the first lady was a new being but her soul was beautiful and she had vision, fantasies and dreams of the future not realizing at first she was alone she was simply aware she was the dark was quiet and comforting it's where she began to dream and create

Yes, you're right. Being a witch is a connection with life and not a reaction to a tortured life, yet there are so many still trapped by an evil history that the only way left to go is though the barrier of pain. I thought this created a positive outcome from an evil that had happened. Maybe someday I'll meet a witch and they can show me their meaning.

I think you’ve touched on something interesting here in that a lot of witchcraft is the taking back of personal power. Whether that is from trauma or even just the word witch itself (which has really been misunderstood, demonised and has had some frankly ghastly connotations associated with it over the centuries) it’s a brave part of the soul that knows thyself well enough to reclaim everything.
I remember having a chat with a Druid friend of mine and I remember him saying “the joy of Paganism in general is being individual and the fact that you might be wrong, and I also might be wrong and just embracing that vast possibility in a way that’s open minded” … and that’s always stuck with me. All these conversations are worth having.

it is difficult but not impossible to give one sight I will not force you to see what is already evident this language alone is a spell or hex that you're under.

"I will not force you" is important of course if people aren't ready, they aren't ready and that's all there is to it. I am however asking and I want to understand.
My favorite kind of people "Witchy Druidic queer and all round hot mess"......... What a lovely comment, I've read it a few times and will read it again a couple more. Love the quoted druid's remarks, they strike a cord. Wishing you well, take care.
