Handle and Key

You are your own handle to doors that you pass through in and out of life. You also put a lock on to keep you safe. You are the only set of keys to you and all your furnishings from the rug to the wonky chair. You keep it as a reminder that being ins’t about perfection a nip and tuck doesn’t make up for how you feel and what’s wrong with being unique at least you are being real. You are selective not selfish to who you open doors too. You could count those chosen few on one hand. They are the most precious possessions you have like artwork hanging on your walls each a bit of Picasso from the blue period to surrealism.

Each one has sanded you down around the edges and others given you the transparent varnish to glow you have learnt so much from each one and count your blessings on. You have grown in ways beyond your face and your stature because of them and they understand why you still sit on your wonky chair by the window. Your pilgrimage this journey isn’t always faultless and clear cut but there is something utterly beautiful to be found in the rough places and people who don’t think they are good enough. They are just waiting on their own handle of a door that they love, and acceptance is their key to open up and just be with a a sense of realism that’s more than enough.
