A Fine Show

I am that lone bird
Floating on the breezes
In an ever darkening sky
The rippling ocean
Comes to life
Dashing it's heaving waters
Against the pebbled shoreline
I see the storm arriving
As i seek shelter
In the caves by the castle ruins
And just as i enter
A flash of lightning
Arcs across the night sky
I see other birds
Their heads down
Awaiting the storms end
The roar of the ocean
Along with the thunder, and lightning
Pierces the inner sanctum of the cave
Eventually, the tempest begins to ease
It's tempestuous nature quells
As the swollen ocean's deluge
Loses it's ferocity
And dies down
And by sunrise
The dark clouds thin, and turn a lighter hue
As the early sun shimmers through
I ruffle my wings
Then fly from my retreat
As i espy the carnage on the beach
The storm had put on a fine show
