Watching Watches

 
I’ve been binge watching watches or watch watching
It’s my new hobby, my new interest and obsession
I’ve been window shopping without any signs of stopping
Analyzing and pricing if I should pursue this fixation

I pause and admire some of these beautiful timepieces
The brands, the styles, the complex mechanical engineering
The colors, the designs, oh how this new elation increases
When the fine craftmanship is so appealing and endearing

There is some kind of romantic nostalgic sentiment here
As I reminisce on the ones that I’ve owned, loved and lost
Now as I get older I appreciate the ticking of all those gears
Wondering on years past and how much now time will cost

I’m wide eyed watching those stunning designs telling time
Movements as if something in me begins to stir and yearn
It feels like I’m just at the beginning of a new journey
Because for whatever time I have left, I have a lot to learn
