the one you are looking for is not here
your first prayer races your heart
spirit wrecked, tearing you apart
the leech is sucking you dry
buildings crumble as you die

The first two lines hit hard...
Having known loss recently, those souls still live in us.
Still feeling that absence is so difficult. Looking for them, forever.
It does tear you apart at times but we can only live knowing that's what they would want.
And some day we will leave others behind who will have to feel this emptiness and pain.
I really think you did an amazing job capturing the many aspects of death.
