Author's Note
Extravagance and wealth in the world, along with power and influence, and what it does when it breaks down from masses of people to individuals. The first 5 stanzas mainly go through and establish the subconscious corruption of the mind upon the unraveling of governmental influence has had upon humanity. When truth and purpose aren't known, our governments and pursuits are vain. Family and supporting family are good pursuits, but that's even a very short time (average life span 70 years). Anyway, the 6th and 7th stanza zero in on a huge part of such corrupt influence, which comes from demons and Satan. There is much reference to that in scripture, using the metaphors of Egypt, Babylon, and Assyria, in how demons have influenced war and trade in man's history. Last stanza, salvation.
