Take a chill pill butt-face
Even though your hella buff,
Rick, you look more like a wannabe
That freakazoid is ralphing all over her shoes
Big Whoop, Crissy’s a foodie and a wasteoid
No duh. I knew Jenn was like a gazillionaire.
She vegged out all day, hanging out with Chris, getting high.
Doug is a bodacious surfer.
He tells everyone to eat his shorts,
when people are criticizing his tubular moves
Brad is so grody. His bod though isn’t as gnarly as Ken’s.
Barf me out. Gag me with a spoon. Let’s motor outta here.

I decided to write a few passages with many of the words that were used during the early 80's in the San Fernando Valley in California. This spawned a song by Frank Zappa and his daughter Moon-Unit mocking the entire culture. Also, the hit movie in 1983 titled Valley Girl starring Nicholas Cage.

I remember that movie this is a clever write I am a valley girl but didn't talk like that mostly it was the mods that did... interesting take on the scene bringing back memories 💕

I remember seeing him on solid gold in the seventies and they were discussing his child's unique name....

Yeah Zappa kicked ass. The man did whatever he wanted. He followed no one. His music was intricate, his lyrics were off the wall and his performances were bizarre. His children all had odd names.

Ha-ha, very cool. Almost like a game of adlib. I wasn't aware such phrases had origin in that time and place. Makes sense, since a lot of them remind you of surfing, and there were probably a lot of surfers around that area. Yeah, I can also see some of the lingo being valley girl or whatever, like that movie Clueless. Anyway, interesting to learn some of these phrases and expressions. Thanks for sharing!

Yes. The scene was big over in San Bernadino Calif around 1981-1985. It was predominately spoken by upper middle class girls. Watch the film "Valley Girl" starring Nicholas Cage. That's the best adaptation of the scene. Clueless was very good but a decade to late.

How I despised Encino and all the valley really. Dogtown is more my cup of tea.

Dogtown I believe was where the birth of skateboarding happened. Right? Santa Monica & Venice Beach
Encino and the valley were really all rich snobby kids who got whatever they wanted.

I didn't grow up in Calif and I wasn't that age when all of this was happening. However, metal, especially from Calif, was a world-wide phenomenon.
