A Dog's Life
I'm puzzled by the muzzle
they've wrapped around my snout
it must have been because
of those times that I got out
I was only being friendly
while my master wasn't there
but the lady with the baby
started screaming in despair
The farmer with the sheep
went fumbling for his gun
I'd jumped the fence to play
and then I had to run
I couldn't wait to queue
when the butcher's shop
smelled yummy
so I made a quick escape
with a sausage in my tummy
The only thing I've bitten
was that football in the park
I felt the air rush out
but it barely left a mark
When they chased me to the station
I leapt onto a train
rode all the way to London
then came four paws back again
Now they've locked me in a cage
where the naughty dogs should go
and they say I'll be put down
if my master doesn't show
I was only being playful
a dog's life's hardly fair
Cats get out all the time
and no-one seems to care
