inadvertence; rewind
make no mistake
my palms still sweat
remembering
the way your
throat tastes
we got to the part
I rode your face
like a reset button
just to feel
(anything)
alive
and I almost
felt
good
watching you
get away ...
but hope is
for pussies
and dead girls
don't feel
past the
empty ache
in their
everywhere
but
make
no
mistake
my palms still sweat
remembering
the way your
throat tastes
like me

As usual, blown away.
I loved how you repeated the first stanza near the end and that last line? Amazing impact. I agree with PS, so much said in a short poem. You capture the primal need in wanting to recapture romance and lust perfectly with word choices (obviously) and your unique formatting.
Girl, I can never get enough. You write what we all feel or have felt with such ferocity and exactly the way it FEELS. A unique gift and I’m thankful you can put into poetry what so many of us have gone through. Your work heals.

The design of your poem is really done well, circling the emotion back around to capture us all once again. Really strong writing!

Dear B,
You write heartache within lust like nobody’s business. That yearning next to loss and need is powerfully potent.
Makes my heart do something which is more than it’s done in ages. Outstanding write. H🌷
