An Oddling Of Fate

such an oddling of fate
wandering through the stellar gore
half hazardly put together to withstand the horror
little pieces of me left here and there in the wasteland
what a pretty place

where your beauty is at stake
mingled with the pain
it can all be taken away

your soul mate is sent to drift elsewhere
in the primordial delusion
nothing is sacred

those are words we use to comfort
cruelly spinning out of control
bumping into each other along the way
just to be ripped asunder
love kills more than it saves

anarchy of soul
bitter in its tastes
we are given moments in the sun
where we say it's worth it
we look at the others
saying glad it's not me

the hurt brigade
it keeps you afraid
In our separate cages
stand up to the creator
you might get smacked down again

I am grateful in my right
for life no matter how painful
I stake my soul on the Alpha
to lead me homeward
I want to believe I made choices that led me to today
maybe that's too optimistic

silently I ask for forgiveness
actually, I plead for it
please God don't kill me today
