Not to add too fine a point on all of this, but for me it's existential. I have just a very small amount of lung function left. Marijuana seems to be the thing which best calms me down when my emotions are going nuclear (which happens frequently; I am going through a romantic breakup AT THE AGE OF 80--ALMOST!) so...jeez louise. Gasping if I do, damned if I don't.

My wife uses marijuana, but eats it instead of smoking. She says the effect is the same but takes longer to kick in. It seems to help with pain.
I am grateful for being able to quit smoking. I have issues related to all those years of satisfying my nicotine addiction, but am so far lucky. It unnerves me to even say that -- i know things can turn on a dime.
I sincerely hope things lighten up for you.
May the gods, real or imagined, bless and keep you.

Thnx,Mike. I never expected to make it remotely this far, so however it works out will be however it works out. Fatalism. Still, I have a couple of things I want to accomplish before I check out the other side, poetry, history of the family for those who come after in the family, all that.
