Pastoral Delight
pastoral delight
Poesy is the moo of the cow
And the bleat of the sheep
The caw of the crow
And the hiss of the creep
Poesy is the hush in the forest
And the thunder of the tempest
Fear in the trees that whoosh
Crickets lying low in the bush
And when the weather is heat
In the pastures you hear the bleat
When the sky is azure blue and neat
The walk invites you to stretch your feet
Come along hear nature's real poesy
cement walls reflect only morbid heresy
Real books are in the pastures open to read
There lies the heart and the feelings breed
Poesy is the moo of the cow
And the bleat of the sheep
The caw of the crow
And the hiss of the creep
Poesy is the hush in the forest
And the thunder of the tempest
Fear in the trees that whoosh
Crickets lying low in the bush
And when the weather is heat
In the pastures you hear the bleat
When the sky is azure blue and neat
The walk invites you to stretch your feet
Come along hear nature's real poesy
cement walls reflect only morbid heresy
Real books are in the pastures open to read
There lies the heart and the feelings breed
