Life's complicated - diary entry

With most men, it’s usually four to six spurts and they're done. You can expect a few grunts of pleasure that might pass for the sounds of a man having a satisfying bowel movement. Then the pitiful guy falls against you exhausted. He's probably his happiest in that moment, but not thinking any sincere thoughts.

That was my memory of David as he planted his sperm inside of me, a decision we’d later come to regret. I try to imagine 40 million sperm, frantically swimming toward my egg and one miraculously getting in. And so, there was one winner among the three of us.

Now I'm 21-weeks pregnant with David’s child while I’m engaged to Joseph, and secretly entering what might become a romantic relationship with David’s former wife. How did my life get so complicated?
