Big city
I live in a big city
But on a quiet little street
Where not much happens
Day to day
I feel kind of insulated from the nasty stuff
That goes on day after day
Just around the corner
Oh sure we've had our share
Of trouble and crime
Even here in my quiet little house
But just a break in or two
Not much when you consider
The murder and mayhem
That a big city engenders
I feel lucky and bored at the same time
I can understand the luckiness I feel
But the boredom worries me a little
I don't want any of that big city crime
To invade my little oasis
I think I need to get out into the real world
Maybe a little more often
Or maybe I'm just bored today
I think I'll take a nap and think about it some more
Later on
But on a quiet little street
Where not much happens

I feel kind of insulated from the nasty stuff
That goes on day after day
Just around the corner
Oh sure we've had our share
Of trouble and crime
