Image for the poem Gorge

Gorge

bitter darkness stood in regret
its hold on me was not his to covet
insidious greed nod
with my heart to take
it played on

daring me to the brink
I came close then depart
giving as good as I get

with a venmous bite
my sacrilege pledge spoke for me
culted grief was to be believed

I cross my heart and hope to die
dining on the divine right
sacred soul lingered in the shade
screaming in agonizing hell

I was impatient with the blood letting
blood spatter seeped on the morrow
grievous error in the moment
a ghoulish sight to behold
my lithe frame covered in gorge
