I write fiction but This Is Fact
The oath of office comes directly from
Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution.
This is the full text, according to the
National Museum of American History:
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute
the office of president of the United States, and will
to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend
the Constitution of the United States."
In 2017, Trump placed his left hand on a Bible,
raised his right hand and repeated the words read by
Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. from the Constitution.
"I, Donald John Trump, do solemnly swear
that I will faithfully execute the
Office of President of the United States,
and will to the best of my ability,
preserve, protect and defend the Constitution
of the United States so help me God,"
This he promised the American people.
Now his shyster liers & his lying grifting self
are adamant that he didn't take an oath
and if he did he meant it was to increase his wealth
and " I hate the uneducated and I loath
the grubby shabby workers give me a Dictator!"
which conveniently, for me, rhymes with, traitor...
