Caveat Lector

aches the darkness
blithely unaware of its beauty
I gaze into the shadows
and see its internal storm

it winds around me
breathing smoke into my soul
succumbing to its need
it scribes desire on my flesh

we meld together as one
twining spirits collide
the victor rises
greeting you on parchement

you behold its face
seeking your passions
fascinated with human

it designs ways to captivate
craving your ardor
it spellbinds

one long last look then departs
taking a part of your shine with it
