Queen

I am the Queen of this house,
and don't you forget that by the way.
If not for me who would do the cooking
yes, this is my kitchen, so please stay out I say.
Unless you plan to help by chopping up the chicken,
you know how much I dislike cutting up fresh meat,
so I'll leave that part to you, I'll even let you sweep.
Who would wash the dirty dishes, dry, and put them all away?
Stack the wood out on the front porch,
well, I know I don't do that every day.
Oh, please don't laugh that way!
Who would wash your dirty socks,
your stinky shirts and old blue jeans.
Put the kids to bed at night,
and be there in your dreams.
Oh, I know you can do it all without me,
there's no way I would ever be missed,
except for you wouldn't have the pleasure,
of listening to silly poems like this.
