Beautiful
How beautiful this life is
All these curious people
In all these peculiar places
All the varying colors
Gracing the unusual faces
All the foods
Prepared so differently
From all the same ingredients
So well-known to me
All the different homes
Of size and shape and smell
And, though foreign to me
I feel I know them so well
How beautiful this life is
We all know the happiness in a smile
And the joy in laughter
We all know the hurt held within tears
And the pain of grief after

In a hotel, waking too early, thinking about all the folk I’ll see in the airport and their stories. A very quick write, and I’m not sure how to end it.

I love observational pieces and the uplifting sense of joy and hope is what I was left with, despite the inevitability of hurt that life can wield....thanks for that bit of warmth..
