Forever Is Never Long Enough

Winter peaked her head in,
now it's lonesome and cold.
I had a head full of dreams,
forever was a word I was told.
But this new harsh season
came snowing in.
The only words I remember
to this story are "The End".
I'll try and keep myself warm
and wait for spring to come
if I survive this frigid weather
and keep my toes from going numb.
This jacket wrapped around me
is nothing compared to his warmth.
I miss the days of sunny weather,
now cold winds blow from the north.
But forever keeps ticking by,
minutes turn to hours in this freeze.
I always dreamt of the day
he would bend down on one knee,
so I pray for sunny days to come
because seasons don't last forever.
This frosty cold air
will turn to better weather.
