More Than Lust

This woman has a smile that lightens
the drab day
would see it daily if
I had my way

A smile with a laugh that
can melt away stress
comes to mood enhancers
she is the best

Her presence reminds me
I human with definite flaws
my thoughts ever lustful
gives me a reason to pause

For I know that the attraction
is largely one sided in truth
last thing I seek is to come
across as utterly uncouth

A cadre of people drawn
to the light of her flame
and my aspiration not always
serene and tame

So just be appreciative that
she is such a positive force
I shall enjoy from a distance
and let her stay on course

Times I do slip thinking
wanton ideas on my mind
just hoping that in her days
bliss is always what she finds
