Moonlight Hour

spent some time up on the coast
in the land of always been
up where the elk run among the cedars
the memory of your love in me
lake filled with pike
line full of hope
whispers through the trees
pain that was such a burden
sweat upon the brow
angry moonlight hour
water quenching thirst
ripples through my toes
as i stand along the shore
whatever i thought whatever i was
i am no more
