THE POWER OF A POEM

SOMETIMES,
speaking for myself,
I think we forget the
power of a poem as
we tend to strive for
the perfect word, rhyme,
title, or metaphor.
Recently as I have been
reading and thinking
about poems  I have
been refreshed and renewed
relative to their power.
While each poet and reader
determines the power of a
poem, I think there are
some for ME that reveal
some of the mega powers
of a poem.
A POEM HAS THE POWER
...to create attention
...to stimulate questions
...to arouse emotions
...to touch desires
...to refresh the soul
...to stimulate writing desires
...to inspire to be a better writer
...to dare and step out of comfort zone
...to feel anger and frustration
...to release tension and anxiety
...to commitment to being a better writer
...to never be ashamed to share
...to create relationships.
There is much more...
BUT ABOVE ALL TO CREATE
THE COURAGE TO NEVER
STOP TRYING FOR THAT.
"PERFECT WORD".
