Portrait of a Know-it-all
Portrait of a Know-it-all
By Michael McManus
Of wisdom, encounters often arise,
A know-it-all, swiftly wielding knowledge's weight.
Their advice echoes, "Avoid that path," they declare,
A constant stream of assertiveness flowing free.
With airs of superiority, they wear knowledge, apparent, like a crown,
Imparting counsel as if adorned in royal garments they sport,
"You should choose this, not that," unequivocally expressed,
As if their words alone could shape life's trajectory.
But do they truly perceive with open sight,
The depth of dreams and skies within our reach?
Can they discern the hidden joys that lie,
In the choices our hearts embrace, both near and far?
A know-it-all, with pure intentions at heart, who listens too,
Can offer insights, aiding us in finding our way.
Yet, no one holds the entirety of truth,
And sometimes, through our own stumbles, we find our own reality.
