SOMEDAY II (Dear Wife)

SOMEDAY II
[Dear Wife]

Someday I will be gone and never coming back,
You'll miss me at my place on our bed,
You'll cry wishing I was there with you,
But your wishes will never be granted.
When that time comes, and you miss me
Hold close the memories we had, and be happy.

I know life will never be the same again,
But you will have to embrace the fact that I'm gone,
Never stand in my graveyard and cry,
It will break my heart even in my new home.
I have always wanted the best for you love,
So never let your emotions tear you apart when I'm gone.

Life will also be hard for me up there,
I will miss the warm embraces,
I'll miss the soft and tender kisses;
From your honey dripping lips.
My life will never be the same again,
But fate will have taken its course.

Someday I will go and never come back,
And when that day comes my dear wife,
Stay strong for my lovely parents.
Kiss mum's forehead and tell her I loved her,
Give my dad a tight hug to comfort him,
And live to tell my sister to forgive me,
And tell my brothers that I adored them wholly.

When that day comes my darlin wife,
Never leave my beautiful daughter alone,
Watch her grow into the woman you are now,
Talk good of me to her,
Tell her that dad loved her greatly,
But that he won't be coming back home

Tell her to hold back her tears,
And that someday in the arms of fate,
I will meet her in a paradise,
Tell my kid I'll care for her again,
But when the day finally comes; Darlin let me be,
My final day on earth will have come!

But until then my love,
I'll adore you the way God adores the righteous,
I'll embrace and love each familial moment,
Taking good care of the persons dear to me,
Because in these uncertain times,
One might wake up with a new name; "the late"

Author's Note
Lately I have observed many of my friends dying, and this left me pondering about the fragility and the uncertainty of life. This made me think about how it'll affect the ones we hold dear when tomorrow comes without us. It's uncertain times and we should cherish each moment we get with our loved ones. Don't take anyone for granted, we are in a journey and you never know when yours halts. Love is life and life is love. Alaf maisha aa ti ma milele. © Diaries Of A Madman
