afterglow
I am nothing in the silence
emptiness building in its feeling
keening logic it makes no sense
I turn my thoughts over in the noise
I keep myself hushed
lest I speak in error
in my pain I am alone
honesty breaks me open
and all my truths come forward naked
bare in the light blushing my love of you
bruised by the knowledge
you are too good for me
I am pale by your shine
but inside my solemn I glow enough
to attract the moths that collect at night

It's also a dangerous practice putting someone on too much of a pedestal that you can't even reach them because they're so high, lol. I suppose sometimes it cannot be helped, after all, the human heart is bound to shout of its admiration for a fellow being in this way when their love awakens. You should try putting yourself on that pedestal a bit more, I think. 😊

I often wonder about how the surroundings inspires us, with lines and metaphors that deliver pretty epic lines. This was pretty awesome, both in tone and emotion.
