Black Butterfly

The heart locket I have opened
Looks like a butterfly
But it’s so dark, with no picture
And it tells me lies
I saw it start to fly out of my hand
I realize I don’t have a net
I would like to capture it back
I wouldn’t mind it as a pet
The color of it is black
I sit in a meadow, wondering why?
It tries to lift me up to join
But I couldn’t reach the sky
I remember when I was that free
Before I was put behind glass
Maybe my wings were getting weak
How is this butterfly able to last?
The beauty of something new
Like never before
I’m going to remain jealous
Until I’m able to soar
I guess I should thank the butterfly
For making me know gravity
But, I hope it chooses to help me up
So I can fly away from my tragedy.
