The Unknowing

I sit beyond you somehow
Into a staring distance you cannot see
Colors fade to black and white
Though judgments are washed away
Seen through a second sight
Lost in the unfeeling of the day
For there's what is
And there's what is seen
The transcending distance covers me
In feelingless thought
Primal upwelling of truth admidst lies
What is there in the half light which speaks
There is a place there, disengaged
The focus, the loci,
Perhaps the true touchstone of the soul
Where darkness and light become twilight
The curtain between worlds
Where I sit before and within
Is this the lifting of Neith's veil
What is real
And what is more
If we can but cross the threshold
What lives within the thousand yard stare
What beckons
Summons
Or is this just the path of the lost
