Godly Men
We are the monsters
We don't hide underneath your bed
We who dictate
What's allowed in your head
If an idea
Was so easily disputed
Why do we kill
Those who speak the truth and
The true
Sin of man
Coveted
By religious libraries
Exhausted
In their horror
Never to exult mythological ideologies
Though they push this
Absolution the only way
Do what I say
Not as I do
If it is ever on display
And when we speak the truth
To save your unworthy soul
When you recoil
Hold onto the tales of olde
For it is comforting
To think a man created this
Than to think
We are ignorant
Savages.
We don't hide underneath your bed
We who dictate
What's allowed in your head
If an idea
Was so easily disputed
Why do we kill
Those who speak the truth and
The true
Sin of man
Coveted
By religious libraries
Exhausted
In their horror
Never to exult mythological ideologies
Though they push this
Absolution the only way
Do what I say
Not as I do
If it is ever on display
And when we speak the truth
To save your unworthy soul
When you recoil
Hold onto the tales of olde
For it is comforting
To think a man created this
Than to think
We are ignorant
Savages.
