The Big Easy (To Dream The Impossible Dream)
To the citizens and residents of New Orleans, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana thank you sincerely for extending your embracing hospitality. I really am a little melancholic due in part my karaoke night at the Cats Meow in the French Quarters went unheard, due in part my cell phone battery completely ran out, however, I will be back in New Orleans 2024 if it is the Creator’s will.
My film crew, my bestie, and I encountered an event like no other I have ever witnessed, upon an entire city dressed in red, very eye opening to say the least.
I did not stay overnight in New Orleans, we partied on Bourbon Street, and all around the French Quarters and left out at the break of dawn. I visited some of my distant Creole kinfolks on my father's side

The Big Ass Fishbowl Drink, if you are ever in New Orleans, I recommend you to try it, if you can consume it all.
The food was excellent severed with that old Southern charm, the honeyed grits according to my film crew was delicious. Hong, a filming school student, flew home with his serving, I hope his serving was still fresh once he returned to Arkansas.
All the pictures could not be seen, the rest was on the set, and me in a makeup chair.
I would like to say to handsome host at the Cats Meow thank you, my love for the selection of that song, after the song 'Dear Lover' by Teena Marie was not available, mmm... he was so nice.

Enjoyed. This gives a window into the major cities you have visited. Pity you didn't know in advance about the Red Run otherwise perhaps you might have planned to run it yourself.

My wise poet actually, we encountered this event, and it was not planned, I would have love to have. Here is the history of this annual event, from what I researched since I returned to New York.
History of Red Dress Run
Red Dress Run didn’t originate in New Orleans, but the city is certainly one of the most visible participants. As legend has it, in 1987, a woman wearing a red dress was visiting a high school friend in Southern California when she unexpectedly found herself meeting her friend’s Long Beach, California, running group, the Hash House Harriers—“a drinking group with a running problem.” Despite her arguably ill-fitted attire, the woman ran with the group anyway, forever becoming immortalized as “The Lady in Red” by the annual Red Dress Run each year.
Each year on the second Saturday of August, a sea of thousands of red dress-clad runners gather in cities around the world to run, party, and raise money for charities—an event known as the Red Dress Run. But as with any celebration, New Orleans knows how to create a truly vibrant spectacle, and the city’s own annual Red Dress Run is no exception.

It is always like coming home when I visit New Orleans, and the history of the is so surreal.
I could not do that city or state any justice in one day, I am thankful for the time I did spend in New Orleans, reconnecting with my Creole roots, karaoke, the food, the vibrancy of the city.
