Blazing words branded
Into my hidden thoughts
Years of self consciousness
Fear and doubt they wrought
Words stab their victim
In their bleeding heart
Twisting the knife
Just to bring more hurt
What can I do?
Lock my heart away
In a gilded bronze shell
Safe from damage and decay
No....
Words can harm and heal
For every scar on my heart
Their is the beauty
Of the brightest shooting star
