Ineffable

Meet me where the sunlight kisses the darkness,
On the horizon of morals and devilry.
What will you choose when your comrades falter?
The clouds or the unfathomable roar?

Oh, and is it so wrong to be a traitor?
When my only betrayals were sincere?
I’ve made my peace with the world beneath;
These darkened wings can’t fly north anymore.

Holy-ness seems so subjective,
When everyone’s headed for war.
Creation and damnation are mere opinions,
There’s not one side worth fighting for.

When Eve met the snake, she didn’t know any better.
Me? I knew of their game...
But if trouble likes company, then there I’ll be.
Bathing in blasphemy, ineffably free.

When the ethereal married into villainy,
they were as delicate as they were deadly.
Sewing seeds in the soils of purgatory
Flame and frolic became raison d’être.
