An Atoms Dance
From the universe’s first and resonant verse,
Ancient atomic dance, a cosmic force dispersed.
Long before man, its power vast and deep,
A secret of the stars, for eons it did keep.
In the heart of an ancient land, time whispered a tale,
Of an atom's dance, a force unveiled.
The drumbeat of war, echoing still,
Einstein's dream-song, a forewarning quill.
From Manhattan's heartbeat to the vast desert's sigh,
Under eagle’s watch, they stitched the sky.
With purpose and vision, in shadows they ran,
Dreaming a power, from the earth to the span.
An assembly of spirits, old and new,
Oppenheimer’s gaze, the fire's hue.
Feynman’s rhythm, Fermi's song of the land,
Guided by ancestors, they took a stand.
From Los Alamos, where ancient stories intertwine,
To Oak Ridge's rivers, where spirits dine,
In Hanford's vastness, where memories lay,
Ancestral winds whispered of a new pathway.
In New Mexico's embrace, where histories blend,
Trinity awakened, sending a message to send.
A burst of light, ancient and bright,
Echoing tales of a formidable might.
When August winds sang a mournful refrain,
Over Hiroshima's spirit, then Nagasaki's pain.
The earth wept, the skies grew small,
An old world ended, a new shadow did fall.
Now, in the dance of atom and star,
We trace our stories, near and far.
The drumbeat continues, a rhythm so fine,
In this Atomic Age, where destinies entwine.
