On Hallowed Ground

Slash and split, on royal roads
better natured angels
from dark restless demons
pulling one down and down
 
when past and present collides
there's confusion in time's tide
when one's gone the other stays
there's tears on rusted iron
 
free the shadows from candles
write down the spells  
to separate spells and curses
to allow in lights
 
hallowed and free
dead graveyards unremembered
angel wings unfurl
flirting with the wind
and fly away
