Sorority
The moon was paired by Jove today,
Almost at meridian height,
Just as the night was dying away
In the glory of first morning light.
And beholding this in our backyard
Was myself and my two eyes
As moonbeams were by daylight barred
From the ever brightening skies.
Then the last to fade was Jupiter
When Aurora took Apollos's reigns
And the Moon's fat crescent smiled at her,
As colleague welkin suzerains,
Exchanging looks as each understood...
Their twilight was a sisterhood.
Almost at meridian height,
Just as the night was dying away
In the glory of first morning light.
And beholding this in our backyard
Was myself and my two eyes
As moonbeams were by daylight barred
From the ever brightening skies.
Then the last to fade was Jupiter
When Aurora took Apollos's reigns
And the Moon's fat crescent smiled at her,
As colleague welkin suzerains,
Exchanging looks as each understood...
Their twilight was a sisterhood.
