nostalgia yet to happen

 


took the right turn on
20th and Market St too
tight

hit the sewer covering
 
blew hole in my rear
right tire

wasn't paying attention

to occupied with thoughts
or Jim Carroll, Dan Fante,
Raymond Carver

and how sunlight reminds
me of strawberries and
better times in a some
small California town
that I have never
visited

but if I ever get
     there I will pay
       better attention
