Hell to Pay

I feel you breathing down my neck
Your touch, your scent; they leave scars on my skin
It's tiring to look around, but I always have to check
To make sure no uninvited demons sneak in.
-
To my heart and my soul; how you'd love to gain control
Of what sanity I have left; quite frankly, it's just a speck
My mental health's now gone to shit; oh, you're so full of it
Don't you dare get in my way, or there'll be hell to pay.
-
I don't just make threats; I keep my promises
I couldn't care less that my answers displease you
You took away my fragile innocence
I used to glow vibrantly; now I'm a darkened hue.
-
What happened to my innocence?
Not just the trauma in the physical sense
I'm being assaulted even in my consciousness
I can't take much more of this stress.
-
Oh, my poor heart and soul; how you've both sunken so low
There's only one option left; I've already been bereft
Of my dignity and all that self-empowering shit; boy, I've taken a hit
If anyone gets in my way, there'll be hell to pay.
