Image for the poem depth

rise and fall I fight the darkness that consumes
spitting up a corpse cleanly picked
I whisper a soul rises to greet the day
I escape to see another dawn

I don't know where I will land
I pray on peaceful shores
where I can be myself

I don't know who I am sometimes
where I begin and end as a pneuma touching the infinite

oh sweet surrender, or do I fight?
is there a simple answer
when I was young, wait when was that?

was I always an old soul?
a light crushed too soon and brought from the brink
to start again to reach the twilight hoping not to get lost in it
