Minority Report
George Santayana in 1905 said, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” Hahaha strange isn’t it? In 1948 Winston Churchill said, “Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” This has been stated in a multitude of ways and as it is so stated each version is absolute truth.
There was a survey conducted here in the US just a few years ago and many people may remember it. Whether you’re well read, like to keep up with the news, or you just stumbled upon it. This survey that was conducted focused on one question testing the temperature of a specific group of Americans. The question asked was, “if you could what would be the perfect era to turn the US back to?”
The overwhelming answer was the 50's. There’s no use wondering who were the participants in this survey. There is only one group or portion of a group that would consider the fifties as America’s golden era. The was only one group of Americans that considered themselves and their ways as the only way during this period. The American woman knew her place, the many American knew their place, homosexuals all fitted under one banner and knew their place.
Over the years we as a society relaxed having grown accustom to gifts that were given to us by other’s lives. We forgot how many died in order for everyone to be able to vote as a whole nation. It didn’t matter if we agreed on the candidates or not, we were for a moment exercising true democracy. Women were allowed to finally come out of the kitchen and pursue college and careers options of their own choosing. The LGTQ were finally able to emerge from the closets, get meaningful employment, and not be considered and abomination by family and friends
We forgot just how basic tendencies operated in the fifties when all of these groups, although handled differently they were all consider weaker, lesser, and minorities. They were all to be controlled by those that had deified themselves regardless of how confused this group was themselves. They were the chosen ones doomed to place their feet or a rope on the necks of anyone that tried to defy their rule. A woman and her children were a man’s property. and no man had the right to intervene.
We the minorities have forgotten that it was only though our unity that we overcame these obstacles. That this group bonded with that group not necessarily spiritually, or philosophically , but yet against a common foe. We defeated that foe but only through working together and overlooking the differences that had been beaten into our heads. But over the years we allowed ourselves to relax and allow our enemy to drive that wedge back between us forming division. We worked against ourselves electing candidates that we thought was only going to hurt a certain portion of our very own group. We couldn’t see that to hurt one part of the group was to hurt the group itself.
The group is not a color, specific sex, sexual orientation, or nation/state of origin. Since this survey was conducted I’ve seen so many of what are called civil right laws repealed. The vote is under attack in every state almost, the LGTQ community hasn’t seen attacks like this since the fifties, some states want to use tax payers money so that certain children can go to private schools. The system is called attack and separate, separate and attack until you break them Willie Lynch style. You have many problems when members within your group don’t associate with your group. These are your traitors, your sell outs, also the ones that will never appreciate the lost of those that have fallen. They will sell you out and sell you out, until those that be stabs them in the back. When those that be begins to attack the rights that affect them personally, then corrupt politicians loose their luster. Sometimes it takes these smacks in the mouth to shock some of them back into reality.
For them to realize that they don’t belong, that they are not among the ones that have self elevated. That they have simply been used to aid in the achieving of their own enemy’s goals. They are quaking now as they slowly become aware that all of their systems are turning against them. The medical system, political system, education system, religious system, judicial system and the list goes on because they are all in revolt. You do what you do and think in a particular manner for inclusion
But what is true inclusion, what does it mean to truly belong to a group. Do I belong because my face and body has the same hue as yours. Do I belong because we share similar genitals. religion, nationality, or political views. These are not bases for inclusion into the ones that “be.” When I’m thinking of belonging, of being a part of something. I can’t help but seeing all of these things as being exchangeable or deniable. But my spirit never fails me and when I bond spiritually and mentally with a thing it’s done. When I say spiritually I don’t mean religion, I mean that thing that lives inside that moves you. That thing that at times you feel through your body when you meet someone or talk to them. This is a group worth being included in, at least for me because it’s as if we vibe at the same frequency.
I can honestly not worry about helping backstabbers, dirty political figures, judicial figures, and etc. That is not to say they don’t rise to power, but I can honestly know that I didn’t have a hand in it. I vibe with those that know who and whom they are without referring to one of the aforesaid groups. Those that appreciate the sacrifices that were necessary and taken to get us all to this point. But that appreciation is only through knowing ones history and refusing to repeat it.
