knew
everyone
should've
felt comfortable
but
still
was on
the fringes
a shadow
in the corner
ghostly haunting
the gathering
outside
peripheral
vision
a fly
annoyingñy
hovering about
went in
myself
slowly fading
as did the chatter
felt alone
did'nt belong
an alien
a stranger
monster
someone
to be kept
at arms length
should've
felt comfortable

I’ve been here. Paralyzed to go to gatherings because I was jumping out of my skin. I was always uncomfortable. Still am sometimes.

I understand.
I think more people than we realize feel the same way, especially after COVID.
Isolation can be comforting in a way, but robs you of so much. I was socially isolated for over twenty years. Coming out if it has been like being reborn, like Rip Van Winkle for sure. It’s been wonderful at times and very difficult most of the time. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

Nothing wrong with not " Feeling it "
and taking care of Yourself FIRST should always be a 1st.
