Shaking hands with Death

I almost died.
I didn't think i feared death.
I thought I would welcome it,
maybe enjoy the warmth before it would hit.

But I was scared.
I was really, really scared.
And that's going to stick with me.
The moment i realized.

That I was going to die.
I'm glad I pulled over.
I'm glad I called help.
and I'm glad I'm still here.

I'm still here.

Author's Note
Tried the devils lettuce for the first time, 0/10. I had too much, was with a dumb friend, managed to get out onto the road. It was one of the scariest moments of my life. Always have someone not intoxicated to watch you and do your research before trying new stuff. It turned out ok for me, but my story is one of many. Most of those stories don't end like mine. Be safe everyone, for yourself, and for everyone around you.
