Author's Note
Opened up a book of poems today that I hadn't opened up in a long while. I was surprised by how many still remind me of the people I love.

The tenderness of this one is really endearing, love the use of details to create the mind's eye image. I might have formatted it a bit different with more caesura, to slow it down and create pauses for emphasis, like

It was the first book I ever wrote in. Sacrilege of the most high. I'd already ruined it with my sobbing so my brain just went "might as well".
