kissing
sucking
licking

sure
those things are great
and with the right person
ecstatically wonderful
but
for me anyway
they are not enough
what do you mean?
well...
it's kind of hard to explain
but
my psyche
needs something far more intense
it...
needs to be struck by lightning
oooh- kay
what the eff is that supposed to mean?
well
it means a lot
more than
kissing
licking
sucking
fucking
fabulous as those things are
being struck by lightning
is having the deepest place reached
the maddening itch scratched
the quiet
desperate starvation
jubulantly
sated
it's not Marvin from Cleveland
it's Zeus
throwing bolts of lightning
and i'm a tree
alone
anywhere
waiting
.

Big high voltage thank you. You definitely get the idea. I was trying to convey how BDSM bliss involves an intense psychological experience- at least it does for me. I'm not sure I accomplished that.

I really loved this offering. Not only does it ask for more from life, it also acknowledges that we are worthy of more. We are worthy of connection and all things that make life worth living.
I’m a big Lars Von Trier fan (he makes Danish art house films) however, in one of his films - “nymphomaniac” there’s this beautiful part where the main character is told by her dying father that everybody has a soul tree. When she eventually finds it later in the film, it is bent and crooked and up the top of a crag on its own, exposed to the elements.
I guess your poem reminded me of that stark imagery. We are all unique. Out on our own. Waiting to be struck.
Beautiful offering that got me thinking far beyond the poem itself. Thank you for sharing.
