sing me to sleep while the world burns
strung out in the madness
of society and burning bridges
I feel conflicted
such a sickness
the molten orb of insanity
drips as poison in champagne flutes
bringing the darkness
out of the shadows
we forget the magic
of ambience in dimly lit rooms
the mating ground
of light and shadow
to gleam under the ripple of a dying sun
of darkness we're born
and lullabies begin
can we dance as the world is ending, my love?
a gentle touch upon my face
tracing my lips with your thumb
you bleed a light that can't corrupt
every time I breathe the fire fills up my lungs
your heart won't be discarded
let me hold you in the depths
of eternity, oh, my love

Hey there
There was such a beautiful energy to this write. How it reminds us that even if the world is ending, love is the only thing that will outlast it all.
The write itself kind of reminded me of my favourite tarot deck that I own, “The carnival at the end of the world”. Do google it if you’re so inclined - the artwork and the backstory of the deck would fit into this poem perfectly.
